Welcome to the Law Office of N. Leah Fink, Esquire
For 26 years Attorney Fink has dedicated her law career to successfully representing thousands of Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income (frequently referred to as SSD and/or SSI) clients all across the Western Pennsylvania area to get the benefits they deserve. Because we only represent SSD/SSI clients we devote all of our attentions to your needs in this most trying time. Attorney Fink and her staff love to answer questions regarding the Social Security Application and Appeal Process and will help you any way they can so that you can concentrate on your health care needs. The Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income application and appeal process can be overwhelming and time consuming.
It is best to contact an experienced attorney to help you in this daunting process. Leave it to Attorney Fink and her staff to help you with your application, file your appeal, contact your doctors, prepare the medical and legal arguments and most importantly, prepare your testimony and represent you at your hearing. Attorney Fink travels to and from the various hearing offices in Western Pennsylvania and is very familiar with the process and people in your area. She can often put you in contact with local mental health providers, local medical providers and organizations that provide low cost or no cost medical treatment in your area. Attorney Fink is also aware of the transportation problems that many people face and can provide suggestions and connections to providers for those needs. It is very important for you to obtain the medical treatment for your specific needs so that your case can be fairly and fully evaluated.
Do not let the first denial get you down or make you think that you are not eligible for benefits. Most people are denied about three to six months after they apply for benefits. In Pennsylvania, the next step is an appeal to an Administrative Law Judge for hearing. This appeal must be filed within sixty (60) days of receipt of the first denial. Unfortunately, depending upon where you are, it can take a year or longer to get a hearing date in front of the Judge. Attorney Fink makes every effort to make sure that her cases are processed as quickly as the hearing office permits, often taking advantage of pre-hearing conferences or On The Record (OTR) requests in cases where a hearing may not be necessary thereby reducing the amount of time it takes to receive a decision. Attorney Fink and her staff continue to represent you throughout all stages including the payment phase which, believe it or not, can sometimes be the most difficult.
The best part, these are contingent fee cases, which means that there are no attorney fees unless and until you win your claim. Attorney Fink’s office also pays for your medical records and you are not required to reimburse her office for these costs unless and until you win your claim.
